It seems like I’ve posted this before but it’s worth repeating. The first election I voted in was in 1984. That was the election that the turtle was elected to the Senate.

He does BUT, a new law the legislature passed says a replacement must be the same party as the officeholder vacating the position. The governor has indicated he may challenge the law…

And that is the problem. Or he can pick someone as "Republican" as Todd Young or John McCain. Mitch isn't great, but he is a lot better than them. So I'm glad he's staying in the office until it's time for reelection in 2027.

The senate Republicans will vote in the new Republican senate leader. The the governor of Kentucky has no say in thar.
McConnell should step down now, and allow a new leader to take over.
If Trump isn't elected he might change his mind in November.

You know that feeling you get when you are sitting on the beach about 10' from the water, and you see the water rushing out to sea, and suddenly you are now a hundred yards from the water's edge but you dont quite understand where the ocean is going? thats kinda how I'm starting to feel right now.
