Missing mag parts..?

Ive got a +2 extension for a Glock that is missing the insert.. Will the mag still function without it? Would this only effect installation and removal?

you are to use the base plate from your mag you are installing it on.

I dont understand what you said. Do you mean that I can use the factory insert with the +2 base plate?

As far as I know, you use the base plate insert from the mag you are adding the +2 extension to.

When i added an extension to mine, the insert from the mag is what I used.

Was yours a factory Glock extension?

The newest "+" baseplates (marked 7151) should come with their own insert (marked 7165); the standard one will not fit. The older "+" baseplates like the one pictured above should come with their own insert as well, but I'm not sure if the standard one can be substituted.

I got some +2 scherers that didnt come with the inserts for like $1.50 a piece. I just filed the sides of the original to fit, and they've functioned 100%v as range mags

This is a Scherer extension. Ill try filing on an OE insert. Thanks!
