The ban isn't about ownership, it's about possession within the city limits.

You will not see a case about carry in our lifetime.

They cannot rule on facts not before them, so if Chicago creates a difficult system of regulation, there may need to be another lawsuit to fix it. Hopefully the SCOTUS decision goes far enough to remedy that at the trial level.

There is a video on YouTube of Brady mouthpiece Paul Helmke admitting that complete or near-complete bans are off the table, then positively crowing about the point that Heller, according to him, allows all the laws that Brady has been trumping all these years......

Let Helmke spout off all he wishes. He's a political lightweight, serving as mayor of Fort Wayne, attracting only those who know no better and his own choir of antis when he speaks. I don't believe that the pro 2A forces could want anyone else in the position he occupies within the near, financially-broke Brady Campaign.

Alan Gura has already filed a case in D.C. challenging the DC regulations as not allowing a person to carry a firearm either openly or concealed "in case of confrontation."

The opinion concludes that the 14th Amendment does incorporate the Second Amendment right recognized in Heller to keep and bear arms in self defense

The majority Justices do not support all parts of the Alito opinion, but all five agree that the 2d Amendment applies to state and local government.
