I compliment the kids, and commend the parents. Without a doubt, those parents believe that "parent" is a verb and not just a noun. This country needs a lot more kids just like these, and just as many more parents that take an active role in raising their children to have and show this kind of respect.

Brings back memories. I remember as a kid, getting out of the pool at the officers club at Ft. Harrison every day at 5pm and standing at attention facing the flag while a howitzer fired off a blank round to the music. Ahhh....the good old days.

I'll be honest, I NEVER saw the flag. We all just faced the direction the music was coming from. And for the record, it's not a parental thing. Every kid on a military base/post knows that if you don't stand at attention, someone is going to see, march over to where you are (after it ends) and give you the business.
