You know only in the US is 102 MPH considered ridiculously fast...

My goodness if you go like 105 I bet you go Plaid...

This. From one of the LEO comments, the 102mph was on the interstate portion of their drive. 102 in a 70 isn't "ridiculous" by any stretch. Way too many ninnies in this country with no common sense or deductive reasoning skills, let alone logic.

If one of your friends was wounded and calling for backup would you have any hesitation to drive 102 mph? I bet you wouldn't consider yourself in the latter category in that case.

    My thoughts as well.
All of these. I've been doing 70 on 465 and had LE pass me as if I were doing 40.

The speed limit here on the interstate outside of town is 75.

If a wreck occurs there isn't any difference between 70 and 102. You only need to be doing 25 to have your head squished.

You are right it does but do you actually do anything about it besides post on INGO? You have strong feelings about what you are posting but I never hear you talking about the campaigns you work on or the rallies you setup or attend? Do you do anything besides post this stuff on the internet that actually might accomplish a goal?

Sure I do. Aside from participating on INGO and a few other websites, I would say I do my part in person as well. I am a co-organizer of a patriot group with several hundred members (some call them tea parties). I have organized dozens of events and rallies and protests. I have personally donated to candidates I believe in and helped them campaign. On INGO last year, a handful of members pitched in several hundred dollars to buy every Sheriff in the state of Indiana a copy of Richard Mack's book about the constitutional duties of the office of sheriff. About 2 months ago I went to a town council meeting and took my turn with the microphone; and told my town's mayor that I would work to get him defeated in election if he passed a law forcing every renter in my town to submit to involuntary inspections of their living space. I made up a flier last year that has been used at several of INGO's open carry rallies regarding summarizing Indiana's gun laws. These are a few modest contributions, but I try. It is a lot more than what most people I know do.

But I am only one person. I need to spread the word and make people realize that there is a problem that will not cure itself. We need to get pissed off and demand less intrusion in our lives.

And one day you'll realize that working on campaigns, organizing rallies, etc. are no more fruitful than posting on an internet message board.

As Americans, we've donated to campaigns, worked on campaigns, voted, educated, etc. for over 200 years. Has our government gotten better or worse in that time? I've asked this question on this board multiple times and nobody has ever given me an answer. Can you name any 10 year period in our history where we have had a net gain in liberty?

This board is primarily made up of right of center Americans. And yet we continually see people here who support Social Security, government pensions, unions, corporate welfare, eminent domain for private entities, etc.

We already know the left is beyond lost. We haven't been able to reconcile the right for over 50 years. What makes you think sending a rhino to Washington is going to make one damn bit of difference? If there wasn't a Libertarian or other 3rd party next to the candidates name last election, I didn't vote for them. Many here chastised myself or others for wasting our votes. Third parties can't win, yada, yada, yada. What is our current RepubliCrat party doing for us?

How can we convince others that liberty is the only way when they flat out refuse it? The want the arm of government in their neighbors business. They want all of these laws that infringe on our liberties.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Who is John Galt?

Wow. This guy does participates in more political activism than anybody else I know.

Making idiotic assumptions simply puts your ignorance on display for all of us.

Edit: The idiotic assumptions were Andre's. irishfan posed a legitimate question.

Well this thread went to hell quick

I dont know if you were referring to my post or not but the intent of my post was that I simply would not extend a courtesy to an individual officer (the exact same officer) who couldn't do the same to me.

Ok, thanks. Just wanted to make sure that what I said wasn't being misconstrued into to me wanting to use "harm" to pay back a cop.

Yep, after our current constitution was ratified. I think our founders were on to something. They realized the Articles of Federation didn't work and started over. They weren't bound determined to go down with the USS Articles of Confederation.

How come police can assist you to do something that still results in a fine? Is there no legitimate excuse for speeding? Would it make sense for police and ambulances to be strictly limited to the posted speed limits?

Did that fine teach the family a lesson? Surely on the next delivery he will not speed to the hospital.

Man, pregnant wife get escort to hospital, then a ticket

they guy was speeding, cop was right.. hopefuly a judge thows out the case..

he had a good reason to speed, but he still broke the rules.. cop probably had to document the run..

If driving 102 mph for a pregnant wife isn't a legitimate reason for speeding and not getting a ticket, why doesn't the king mandate that all vehicles have a governor that limits your speed to 75mph? If there is bmnever a justification for going over the speed limit, why are car manufacturers allowed to produce vehicles that go 100 mph? We want nannies in every other aspect of our lives, why not top speeds of vehicles?

    A holler in Kentucky
My second Son was born within 15 minutes of us getting to the hospital, and I was kinda panicked, I pulled up in the Ambulance bay at Floyd Memorial hospital, and a city cop comes up as I'm getting out of the truck and says "you can't park here buddy". In a rather loud tone I told the officer my wife was having a baby RIGHT NOW! He looks in the truck and just totally freaks out, I think he ran in 3 or 4 circles before he got the attention of the hospital staff. I parked my truck elsewhere after we got my wife inside, the cop was already gone by the time I got back in the building, I wish I would have got a chance to talk to him, by him being so freaked out, he kinda helped me settle my own case of nerves.
