Up north for the weekend at St Ignace for Minis on the Mack. Going to be about 1500 Mini Coopers running around. Anything else up here that we have to see?

US2 between St. Ignace and Naubinway is a great little drive along the coast. Grab a Pastie at one of the roadside bakers, but avoid the tourist traps.

Besides the Pastie, look for the road side smoked meat stands. Some of the best beef jerky I've ever had has come from them. But, its pricey

There is Colonial Michilamackinac. It's at 18th century fort/fur trading outpost. It's a bit touristy, kind of like colonial Williamsburg but it's a cool side stop and the have ongoing archeology digs That started I think in the 50's and they are still pulling stuff out.

plus you can get some pretty good photos of the bridge from the forts catwalk.

Dont know the name of the local bar, but they have great pizza and upstairs there is a Big Mac museum - worth 1/2 hour of your time. It's very near the bridge.
