I'm swapping on a new Interarms m1 carbine stock & trigger housing into a Plainfield Tool rifle and having a bit of trouble getting the front of the barrel to sit down into the stock.

Some light sanding under the receiver and on the recoil plate has helped but I need another few millimeters to get the barrel band to slide on without heavy downward pressure. This process is taking me forever!

Has anyone here experimented with the barrel band tension on these?
Do they like downward pressure like an M1A or do they prefer to be free floating?

Your best information will be on the CMP forum...generally free float is always best for accuracy. But, let me check with my fellow high power shooters and see , natdscott this forum may have more information on this then I do. Contact @natdscott

Well crap. I can already see my next problem. This metal top heat shield is not going to fit. The band is very tight too.

I really like this black metal hand guard look though.

So many variations on these guns! Ugh.

Call the cmp and ask to speak to a gunsmith in the shop.

    Follow up...

I emailed Kahr & they want me to ship them the rifle. The stock doesn't seem to be cut correctly and they said they'd get it to fit or swap out out.

    Big Kudos to Kahr Arms!
