I have a (what seems to be all matching numbers) Luger - have had it for years. I have never shot it. Problem - the barrel is a bit loose in the frame - by hand, it will rotate about 1/8th" both ways. I look for someone both knowledgeable and capable, who can diagnose and fix the issue. Thanks for any and all help!

I have some of these and the barrel isn't lose on them. I would try to tighten it up by hand as far as you can and then see if it will chamber a 9mm.

That said, the barrel screws in but there is a notch for the extractor, yours may be lose and is just rotating back and forth hitting the end of the extractor. Pull the action back until it locks with the mag in it and see if it rotates past where the extractor would fit, if that's the case there's probably something wrong with the threads.

Not sure if there's anything that can be done if there is, but as long as it chambers, the extractor in it's notch will keep barrel from backing out.
