As a youngster dad gave me a $10 single shot .22. Think it was Crome plated not nickel plated, had a yellow stock, I thought it was pine but don't know. Don't think it had a brand name on the barrel, if it did don't remember it. I would buy shells at one cent each or thirty five cents a box at the general store. Anyone seen a .22 like this, if so any idea who was the maker?

Are you sure the stock was yellow or just blonde colored wood ?
I have seen some older blonde colored rifles that could be mistaken for yellow. :dunno:

Beech wood natural stain looks yellow.
this one is over 100 years old and when new was less than 4 dollars.

it is not chromed finish but if the blueing had been removed via sweat and time it would look shinny

Would help to know what, as a youngster, meant year wise in determining the firearms. Cause there are tons of plastic stock single shot .22’s now, but back in the day not so much.
