I have the bantam/boot grip on mine. More compact to carry, but a bit more difficult to shoot with. There's a bit more recoil, and my accuracy suffers a little. Still working that issue out, but I plan to deal with it because the boot grip is so much better for CC.
Yeah, I hated to pay that much too, but the only place I found to get them was directly from Ruger.
Here's a picture of my LCR with the boot grip. It is considerably smaller and smoother than the stock Hogue tamers. If you have large hands, it may be a bit harder to hold on to.

Thank you. They look a little smaller than stock. I have a small hand, so they might be just right? Do you like them over the stock ones for carry? I know ,more recoil than with stock.
Yep, much better for carry. The stock grips are made of that sticky, bulky soft rubber. On the boot grips, the only parts that are soft rubber are the backstrap area and the inside near the trigger guard. The sides are a slicker, harder plastic material that doesn't stick to your clothing.
