I have been pondering over my EDC and noticed a gap in the less than lethal category. What do you guys recommend?

    My EDC is as follows;
    Sunglasses/shooting glasses
    Shirt
    Pants
    Boxers
    flipflops
    gun belt
Xd40 in a cross breed super tuck
    SOG Trident tanto
    Four Sevens Preon2
    Keys
    Wallet
    Lighter
    chap stick
(No Cell Phone) its on the list

Edited to be more to the point and less about boxers.

I like OC spray. Many options out there to choose from and easy to carry. Always good to have a less than lethal option with you.

I carry a 3/4 oz pepper spray. it's really light, and it gives me 3 good shots. i bought an extra to test the dispersal pattern before I started carrying it. I am right handed so I keep it in my left pocket.

I'm guessing you're referring to this...

I carry the smaller one on my key ring and keep a full size in the car. My wife also carries the full size one. One of the nice things about it is most people don't even know what it is until it's too late.

OC is always a great choice. They come in all different sizes. I can attest to its effectiveness. I had to be sprayed as part of my Military training. It will make a grown Man cry. If you go that wrought. Make sure you get 10%. Also make sure you shake it often. I would not keep it more than a year or so then replace it. It's not a bad idea to test it from time to time. Just make sure you are extra careful when you do so.

    You've got lots of options.

    OC devices
    Handheld lights
    Taser/stun guns
    Kubaton-type sticks
    Batons/saps
    Plastic keychain impact thingys
Hair comb / permanent marker / walking cane

Whatever you choose, just make sure you get some training on the proper way deploy it, just like you would with a firearm.

Closed hands strike are a great way to break your hands so you cannot use your pistol.

OC is all about marketing. Bull **** and fairy dust. They along with stun guns are more often used as robbery tools than by citizens for self-defense.

During the day a good pen in the hand, during the night a good light in the hand.

This past weekend I did a seminar after Ernie Emerson's at the NY Custom Knife Show. Now those people look at pens...any pen, in a whole new light. The same with the flashlight.

Unlike guns, knives, and OC. I can carry a pen or flashlight anywhere. They are the next step up from open hand combatives.

    Problems with OC Spray

    Flashlights for self-defense

    Pens for self-defense

I carry an ASP OC key defender. It's always with me (back right pocket) and is in my hand as I'm walking to the car.
