I picked up this nice little Anza file knife from the prize table at a recent Run-n-Gun match.

10 seconds playing with it and almost drew blood out of myself.

Funny you posted that. Krate was the main match sponsor at the event I picked up my Anza. Those are dead nuts copies of Microtech knives, down to the triangular hardware. They launch and retract pretty good. I just couldn't bring myself to drop $ on a copy.

    Anybody heard of these?
I mean, if I were Microtech I would probably be suing for copyright patent infringement...

I got one today. Compared to my Microtech Ultratech, the Krate is ~0.3oz lighter, has a bit more blade wiggle, requires a lighter push/pull to fire and retract and is a lot less expensive. Seems like a nice knife. The Krate is made in China vs USA for the Microtech.

D2 is a love/hate steel. Some love it, some hate it.

It's a decent steel for the entry level EDC. They work pretty well and do a decent job and keeping an edge. A lot of companies seem to be using it to also keep costs down on knives.
Count me in the "love it" crowd. It is a great steel. And in the very rare instance where I misplaced a knife, I do not feel the need to go through a period of mourning as I would if I had a more expensive knife made from an exotic super steel.

It looks like a handy knife to have on your belt, Mij !
Us older guys always have a box that we can root around in .... and find treasures.
I made it for pheasant season. Gonna sharpen it in the next day or so. I’ll find the rite belt sheath in due time. That’s just the best I could do at the moment. Thanks.

Couple knives I've had a very long time..found in cars in the very early 90's. My ole man was a car dealer, so we were always pulling the back seats up. Never found a gun though.
Not sure the make on the heavy brass handled 1 that says pakistan on blade.
Secong knife is a eagle brand cutlery made by parker cut.co in japan. 20240409_212204.jpg 20240409_212150.jpg 20240409_212141.jpg

Looked and found a couple more in the drawer. I've had the brass camo knife since the 80s when i was a 16yr old in Arkansas. Had another but lost it when I'd hop the trains to go fishing. Trains were great transpo back in the day
2nd knif3 is another i foubd in a car. I believe it's a throwing knife being it feels more balanced. Was painted black and i stripped the paint off. 20240409_213610.jpg 20240409_213620.jpg 20240409_213630.jpg
