She does have more arrogance than most F-15 pilots I've met. Good thing there is academia...

F-15 pilots earn some of their arrogance through actual competence; if they do something stupid in the airplane, it will kill them. If Professor Emotion says something stupid in an article, she gets pats on the back from her faculty peers and maybe an award.
