    Bush and the Rs don't get a pass for their failures, but I'll not be the one to backbite when the class of 2010 is just starting to have an effect and they seem to be showing some backbone. I sent an e-mail to Boehner to that effect and hope that many more do as well.

    I think of it like training a child or a dog. Scold them when they do wrong, but praise them when they try to do the right thing, even if imperfectly. You don't get the desired results if you continue to scold when they try to do the right thing.

    I agree that what we term liberal in this country is generally more socialist and far from the old meaning of liberal. The Republican party have (some would prefer have) way too many members with more in common with the socialists. I look at Little Dick Lugar and his close personal friend Lindsey Graham (amongst many others) and shake my head when they want to pretend they are not left leaning big government progressives.
