Looks like the safety concern is just a cover story, since it seems that "irregularities within the purchasing process" is what prompted the return and the 3 state employees being put on administrative leave.

Things that make you go, hmmmmm....

Gaston could sell bibles to an atheist. He is one slick dude. I still remember when every cop in America carried a revolver. You know when and why that changed? The TV show Miami Vice. After one season of Don Johnson running around double tapping every bad guy suddenly every police dept. in America "realized" that they needed more than six rounds if they wanted to be "tactical". After seeing Jim Zubiena perform the incredible speed draw on that show I got real interested in IPSC shooting. Cop shops all over the country were watching and rewinding that scene over and over again. It was a real "OMIGOD" moment for street cops. I think it scared the crap out of most of them. As it should. Google Jim Zubiena/ Miami Vice if you want to see it. It's on Youtube.

It will be interesting to see if these show up for sale at Bud's or some other reseller. I would think 800 guns would drop the used value a little.

Had nothing to do with the increased capacity and faster reloads made possible by the more modern semi auto pistols I'm sure. It was all about wanting to be Miami Vice.

You know you had a mullet, porn stash, and a white summer suit when you joined the force, so might as well have added a reliable semi auto pistol too!
