I was looking at an old weapons familiarization book from the Army that was made in 2002 and noticed something odd . I'm sure I'm not the first, but have any of you noticed that the XDM looks an awful lot like the CZ100?

Some of the obvious differences are that the CZ doesn't share a grip safety nor the trigger switch safety.

I'm pretty sure there is no design lineage between the two. Internally and externally they don't appear to have that much in common.

XD was originally based of the Croatian design that escapes my memory. Not the Czechs.

Unless there were design teams cooperating from different companies - that's very much a possibility. I'm not certain.

You are correct, it was the HS2000, but it's predecessor was called a hs95/cz99 that was an unauthorized Sig 226, which kind of makes me wonder.
