The state is bankrupt. They just won't admit it. Not just financially but it also faces a bankruptcy of ideas and leadership.

So now the governor is closing down a prison, releasing prisoners.
And closing down homes for the treatment of those mentally ill, turning them out onto the streets too.

And the labor unions . . . they plan to sue the state to keep their pay, despite the fact that the state is broke.

We're laying off thousands, at same time "our number one priority is jobs." Gov Quinn needs to learn when to use the purple and when it's just mean.

IL has been spiraling down hill for a while, eventually they'll hit a point where things break; this we can't spend money we don't have attitude is long overdue.

Sounds like a good plan, on its face. Downsize government and let out non violent prisoners. Quinn, tho will probably keep the pot smokers in jail and let the murderers go. Illinois' a screwed up place. This is just the beginning of their woes.

How about legalize it all? Prisons will be roomy and the state will have more money!

And you will have people running around jacked up on crack, heroine, coke, meth, LSD etc etc on the streets. Not like we dont now, but i dont think anybody wants these people on the streets legally or in any kind of numbers
