obama and holder abused the RICO statute to pressure banks into not extending credit to firearms dealers.

They've always abused the the courts and if bidet gets the PLCAA repealed there will be a tsunami of suits

The fact that the anti-gun lobby and it's cronies in gov't would be quick to ban imports of arms and ammo just 'cuz, doesn't mean that the ban on russian ammo isn't one among many sanctions on the russians for being bad actors

Yup. Obama started it. Trump expanded it. INGO was oddly silent about Trump's Vepr ban. NRA was as well. Funny, that.

Just curious where could you direct us to perfect?

"In President Trump’s final months in office, his administration approved the Fair Access to Financial Services Rule, which would have made it difficult for banks to discriminate against businesses based on the industry they are in. Under the Trump rule, financial institutions would be required to base their decisions on financial information."

You don't see a certain hypocrisy in the NRA's handling of Trump's Vepr ban? Right wing media sources? Did you even know it happened? If you're going to call it backdoor gun control, call it backdoor gun control no matter who's signature is on it. Or as long as someone is "mostly friendly" it's cool to just ignore it when they do it? Or as long as fundraising doesn't suffer?

Trump caught a whole lot of hell for his bumpstock ban and rightfully so. The VEPR ban was barely a blip on the radar screen in comparison. Reagan and Bush Sr. both also caught hell for the anti-gun stuff on their watch, but Reagan also had positives such as mail order ammo being OK again, old surplus military rifles OK for import, etc. Obama was largely hamstrung on his anti-2A intentions simply because of (R) stonewalling and grassroots activism from 2A folks (countering and shouting down the M855 ban, but sadly we were not so fortunate with 7N1). No president has been perfect on the 2A, but some have been a lot worse than others. Some also had "conservative" attributes in other areas of governance that were of great benefit to the nation when implemented (Reagan, Trump, and even W. Bush). In regard to the VEPR ban expanded under Trump, I think his administration was simply outmaneuvered by the Dems and he was painted into a corner via the "Russia! Russia! Russia!" route far more than anything to do with an actual anti-2A stance.

Perhaps. Or perhaps he just signed off on it without really caring one way or the other. That's not really my point, though. My point is how "pro-gun community" reacted. It was incredibly quiet.

But yes, bump stocks certainly got a bigger reaction. Good point on that.

Further proof that politics follow culture. If the culture is brainwashed into being anti-gun, the text of the laws becomes meaningless. They will destroy your ability to access and own guns without changing a single law. This is what happens when we don't teach our kids right.
