Also saw the quote that the EO are not only legal, but are changes the overwhelming majority of Americans, INCLUDING MOST GUN OWNERS, support. Guess I am not included in "most gun owners."
I'd say the gun owners who support the EO Obama is planning probably have only a superficial understanding of the issues. I mean c'mon. Think about it. What makes you think that background checks, at least the ones we have, are an adequate predictor of dangerous behavior?

Hell, a more effective strategy to curb "gun violence" would be to keep repeat violent offenders locked up instead of letting them out early. It doesn't require an EO to enforce existing laws.

And as we've seen over and over with these mass shootings, the very few nutballs who do this aren't "dangerous" untill they are. In other words the criteria we use to predict dangerous behavior is inadequate on two fronts. It casts too large a net over the people it prohibits and it fails to predict the real dangerous ones.

Sounds like the ATF is going to consider anyone that receives consideration (Money) in exchange for a firearm a seller and will require them to perform a background check. This is going to be a great pain for some of us that collect and will simply put more money in the pockets of FFL's who, by the way, can probably increase their prices by 10-20% and jack up the prices on transfers. This will (of course) prove to be ineffective in stopping "Gun violence" which will only lead to the argument for registration. All the while the progressives will be repeating the Mantra of "We are not coming for your guns" right up until the day when the perfect storm of all three branches being progressive and then BAM. Confiscation. The next Supreme Court will let you have a single shot shotgun.

Here Are the Specific Executive Actions Obama Will Take to ?Reduce Gun Violence? | TheBlaze.com

Here we go. The list is out.

    Some of the highlights.

    - More government workers to process background checks
    - More ATF agents
    - Money to federal agencies to promote smart gun technology
    - Online monitoring to identity private sellers "engaged in the business of selling firearms." (Makes a point to mention that as few as two sales could put someone into this category.)
    - Require retailers to report lost or stolen guns
    - Establish a single federal location for ballistics testing and comparions of fired bullets recovered in crimes
    - Lean on states to report more info into background check database

Then why select candidates in the primaries that drive people away? Why not take all the help you can get?

    From Who....where.

What are you saying. Be clear.

We are asll subject to the same selection. We have only the primary's to select from. The pickings have been admittedly slim to suck the last few cycles.

This will shut down half the people in the classifieds.
