Sorry maybe I'm confused about my own question... I'm wondering weather an HBAR barrel or a light weight barrel is a better choice for an sbr ar 15..?

Pretty much target shooting... SHTF I guess.... Im guess that if I where to be putting as little as 500rnds a year through it then the light weight barrel would be adequate..

meet in the middle and get the standard profile barrel

I agree, go with the standard barrel. If you think you are going to be running some mileage then go with the LW. Other than that, I would not get a LW. My experience is that they heat up fast and become loose (less accurate).
