International Workers' Day - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Once again, May 1st has arrived. Progressives, Occupiers, Socialists all celebrate their ideologies. Crying about minimum wage is high on the list for progs this year.

Really, May Day serves as a sort of mass self-outing of the people we don't have to take seriously. An excellent use of your May Day is to donate to the Victims of Communism memorial.

Do you know what we call May Day in the free world? "Thursday"

I give you permission to teargas a hippie today. Do me proud.

The celebration of what they call "may day" has been going on quite a while...I know my Pagan, Blue Faced, Celtic forefathers danced around the pole this time of year and they weren't no Commies...Just Heathens.....Well..At least until somebody told us about JC the Unemployed Jewish Carpenter....Then we began hunting Easter Eggs and burning Pagans.....

Lord I misss 1000 AD...Good times (except for the breath....) You really had to love a gal back then to kiss her.....:yesway:

Umm...May 1st has been Loyalty Day since congress passed the public law confirming it as such back in 1921. Nothing new here. As for his proclamation....not a lot to see here to cause any outrage for conservatives. Sounds like their kind of gig.

On Loyalty Day, we renew our conviction to the principles of liberty, equality, and justice under the law. We accept our responsibilities to one another. And we remember that our differences pale in comparison to the strength of the bonds that hold together the most diverse Nation on earth. In order to recognize the American spirit of loyalty and the sacrifices that so many have made for our Nation, the Congress, by Public Law 85-529 as amended, has designated May 1 of each year as "Loyalty Day." On this day, let us reaffirm our allegiance to the United States of America and pay tribute to the heritage of American freedom.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2014, as Loyalty Day. This Loyalty Day, I call upon all the people of the United States to join in support of this national observance, whether by displaying the flag of the United States or pledging allegiance to the Republic for which it stands.
