    Yes, I have one.
    What are your questions?

    It is loud, but manageable.
Surprisingly, it really doesn't have a sharp recoil, but then mine has a very nice "Kick-Eeez" slip-on recoil pad.
It has some recoil, bot it's not sharp, or hard. It's more like a soft push. It's a heavy push, but, not a slap.

I haven't really shot it that much.
I bought it on a whim and liked it enough to keep it, but it mainly sits in the safe.
I'm sure it would drop a deer with the best of the pistol caliber carbines out there today.
I might have to give that a try...

Like Mgderf stated "it's loud". The recoil is managable with a good pad and proper technique. If you reload, the rounds aren't that bad in cost, but the bullet choices can be limited.
It sure does a number on a deer with a well placed shot.

I had one for a year since all the 44 handies were sold out. Kicked like a mule, ammo very expensive. I do reload so solved that issue and it was deadly on deer. Way overkill and the 44 is a much better straight wall cartridge if thats what you want to use. But now with the rule changes allowing regular rifles on private property, dont see why anyone would want the 500. Many many better choices out there.

    Those rules are only temporary.
They may very well become permanent, but not yet.
I sincerely hope they stay as are, or even add more caliber choices, but the rules in place today are temporary to be sure.

I believe the five year trial period ends next year?

    Why own a .500?
    Because it's a .500.
Who cares if it has more than enough oomph?

Note: back when I worked at a shop we had a customer w H&R and another w Encore. Both .500's.
They could NOT get them to zero.
Offset kit for Burris Signature Zee rings solved the problem.

IIRC they ran out of vert adj w reg rings....guns hitting high. Form and grip proly the problem.
Might have been solved by porting.
    Rings way cheaper.
