Same here. The only pig squealing I want to hear in the woods would have to come from a feral hog! I usually carry my SR9, but in the hot summer months, when it is hard to conceal, I go with the LCP.

Always carry when I hike, usually my Single Six .22. When in meth country, I carry my .45 Blackhawk.

Never hike without something on you, no matter the caliber.
