This was purchased from the GI that carried it across Europe. He was issued it shortly after the landings at Normandy. He landed there but several days after D-Day. On of my favorite handguns. And yes.....I shoot it!!!!

Is that a Colt? Remington Rand? I have my granddad's 1911 that he carried in the Pacific as an MP on the island of Tinnean. His is a US&S and it is in pristine condition. I love to just look at it.
