I am stumped. I need to find a phone number for a person. I have their name and address. But no phone number. No longer are there phone books to go look those things up in. County tax records don't list such a thing. How do you find someone's phone number anymore?

In the age of Google I can't believe a reverse number lookup is not possible

I'll go old school here and say to mail them a letter. I ended up doing that a few weeks back myself, though in my case the effort was fruitless (I discovered they sold the property, and sadly, the old owners I was trying to reach have probably passed away).

So many have canceled their landline phones and gone to cellular that I'm not sure there is a "directory". People seem to change numbers way more often as well. We call people about past due bills at our office and often reach someone who has that person's old number or numbers that are no longer in service even when we have seen them fairly recently.

Another one to get my name out of. Been googling my name and getting removed from sites.

I ran my name on that site. There was a jumble of old and new info, going back 35 years. Some good info and a lot of expired. I decided to just leave it. Anyone actually using it would have to do quite a bit of sifting and sorting to make anything of it.

Spoke with another INGOer last evening on this subject. She said she went around to all the people info sites and had her info removed a few years back. A year later she revisited some of the sites to verify she was still gone from their records. Found that bits and pieces of her real info were spread across many people, with the same name as hers in other states around the nation.
