Welcome, my friends, to the first even day since August 28, 2008!!

Every day since then has had an odd number in the date somewhere, so this is the first even day.

Put another way, every day since Obama was in the White House has been an odd day.

So go out and celebrate

I'm going to have to nitpick this a little.

Today may be the first day since then to not contain a single odd numeral, but any number equally divisible by two is even. So 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 are all even numbers, despite containing a one.

What's more interesting is that today (02/02/2020) is the first palandrome date since 11/11/1111. And the next palandrome date won't happen for another 101 years (12/12/2121).

You're right. Dang it. It looks like I was fooled by fake news.

ETA: Apparently there is a qualifier that it's a global palandrome. Meaning that it's universal across the world because the month and day are the same. Some countries go month before day, so 02/02/2020 is the same across the globe, whereas 03/02/2030 wouldn't be.

My neighbors certainly celebrated, don't know if it was this or just the first sunny day in a long time but had bumpstocks going off north and southwest of me. Pretty cool to listen to.
