I am going to purchase a G17 in the near future to try something new and so the wife can use it if she ever had too. I've already bought some upgrades and yes that may have been foolish, but I want it to be ready to go the way I want it, when I get my hands on one. Other than gander mountain and strictly shooting I have no experience with other shops in the area. So I ask you all for advice as to whom would have the best deals (let alone if deals exist anymore).

What he said...and atvdave pretty much put them order of who will have the best price. Right to Bear Arms is right there with Dave's and Meeks for the most part on price. I've purchased a firearm from all these places and have had no negative experiences. The negative about Whittakers is with the current gun hysteria...if your not there soon after they put it on the shelf it will be gone.

There's also a small shop in downtown Newburgh called Lock N Load. They don't have a huge inventory, but they are friendly and helpful. I bought a pistol and a used .22 there.

Whittakers transfer guns through a guy in the old Dick Blick building.
Store doubles as a sewing machine shop, behind the Denny's across from Eastland Mall.
No shipping charged, just the transfer fee.

WHITTAKERS over near Owensboro. You will more than save the transfer fee and their selection is massive. Hate to steer you out of Indiana, but.....

Whitakers will ship it to J&S if you like.
And it's Sunday you would pick up Whitakers guns from him, not Saturday.
Closed Saturday, because he goes to Whitakers.
