I know some of the backspground story. The show is way different than what really happened. Clint is not afraid if snakes or spiders. Just start with that knowledge and take some guesses about the rest.

I would be interested in hearing Glints' side of the story. We do all know it is T.V., but they did not cast him in a good light at all. At one point in the show, it may have been when the woman was setting the lobster trap, she even called him a wimp.

Editing cant take away his quotes.

    Her: What's wrong?
Him: I'm worried about these holes, they might be snakes..
Her: ... want me to go first?
    Him: yeah.. you go first....

Refusing to eat sea urchin cause its gross?

Calling her method of starting fire stupid? Oh, it worked.

He should have realized from day one and admitted he was out of his element and expertise, and tried working as a team instead of bailing on her repeatably

Example: she used an Egyptian Bow drill. It took I think it was 8 days to start a fire with that method. A big part of that was due to rain but itmis a difficult method to use. Fire went out on day 14. Clint started a fire quickly by himself using a standard bow drill the next day.

Clint actually hunted for crabs for them every night. They had as many snails as they wanted to eat. They just grew tired of them.

Im not really sure how much I should divulge so I'm not going to put anymore out there. Think as you want. I'm just alerting you that it wasn't as it appeared. Believe me or don't.

Why didnt he start a fire himself before day 8?
that guy is a poor excuse for a survivalist. Sounds like you must know him or be him. Advise him to go into another line of work.

If the producers of the show have these guys sandbagging and pretending to be wimpy, incompetents whiners, which seems like the implication, I'm not sure that's any better than being a wimpy, incompetent whiner.

Disclaimer: I'm a wimpy, incompetent whiner, but I do not claim to be otherwise on national television

I'm watching the episode as I type this. Yeah I think there is a bit of TV going on. I won't deny his weaknesses here and there, but all TV shows are a bit dramatic. I read a great deal about the hiljack practices on Bering sea gold as told by a photographer of the show (scuba is where the other part of my money goes Haha) . Basically they just confirmed TV is just that....TV. I'd give him more credit than the show gives him. The lady is a bad ass though, wouldn't mind being paired up with her on the show!

I don't have cable, but from the few minutes of Googling I did as a result of this thread I'm going to go out on a limb and say the show's main focus is showcasing athletic people's nude butts for people who don't want to admit they are watching soft porn. This way you can ogle but feel like you're learning something?

    Is that close?

I'm particularly annoyed at the show because it's called "Naked and Afraid: UNCENSORED" but it *is* censored. Hey, where are the naughty bits?

That's false advertising and false labeling of the product! I want to SUE someone!

    (purple implied, but still...)

I watched the premiere and the supposed "UNSENSORED" one that came after. The people didn't seem to be very pro active for being in a survival situation. Little tid bits of knowledge here and there that helped on occasion. Lots of dumb mistakes and non essential whining about this or that or who was responsible for the fire going out or it not getting started, etc.

Goggles were the DUMBEST chosen survival tool chosen for the few I watched. A short machete or knife of some sort would have been my choice for a gimme. Depends on how specific they were allowed to be in their choices or if it could be one personal item out of my personal collection.

I have a nephew in the 'reality tv' business...not reality.... Just be careful what you sign when you decide to go on one of these shows...make sure there's no 'ok to make me look like an idiot clause'...just saying

I watched that episode. That guy has some serious issues to work out.

Edit: Nevermind, thinking of the wrong guy. Haven't seen this episode.

I think DC has gone overboard with all the survival shows. They are getting old in IMO. I saw the episode with the Indiana guy, and that was the last episode I watched.
