If you share that kind of stuff in a business environment, you're asking for trouble. Regardless of whether its "digital blackface" or not.

We only use teams. I'd never use anything other than the standard emojis. Its unprofessional. And y'all know the weird stuff I've shared. Its best to keep personal and work life separate.
Thank you Cameramonkey! I agree it’s time to go back to the basic emoji at work! It has been fun finding memes related to the message or the person I am conversing with. But I have been put on notice so It is time to conform.

Tell them you 'IDENTIFY' as that race.

And they HAVE TO accept it

My employer has an internal messaging system probably no different than most. Teams, Slack and Jabber are some of the most common.

I like GIFS. Maybe you call them memes. I enjoy sending them in messages. I just learned something new today that may change that.

Supposedly, if I send one with a pic of a person on it who is of a race not my own, I may be called to the main office and labeled insensitive or possibly even a racist. WTF!

I thought the person telling me was sh#t’n with me! So I looked it up. It’s real! When did that happen? I guess I can’t send Buckwheat memes anymore! I love Buckwheat memes!

You must identify as african american first and announce it to your employer before you can be granted a pass from racism.
