Well last night's blank made two years now I've not blasted one with any firearm. Not from lack of opportunity.

My 9yr old was trigger man this year as was last year.

It seems the older I get the more I like archery season.

Hunting partner has been tied up with more pressing matters this entire season.

Keeping him and his in thoughts and prayers...hoping upcoming seasons are better.

Shot a nice doe this morning. I'll never shoot another deer while hunting alone again. Thought I was going to die getting her drug out and up into the truck. I'm only 53 but today I felt 90.

Always wanted to go hunting. 3 back surgeries later thats definitely not going to ever happen. I hear ya

Saw fresh rubs and scrapes today but no deer.

found my first shed of season, fresh bark on bases from rubbing. seems early due with mild winter, ive found them before Christmas but conditions were cold. maybe he is wounded and stressed. Merry Christmas!

Here is my 2020 buck. Just picked him up from Fireside Taxidermy in Greenwood a couple weeks ago. He is my biggest to date and only one I had mounted.

Yes. Drilled into the antler, 3 screws, one long one and 2 shorter ones to keep from turning.

Yesterday son walked out his door to deer hunt and saw a doe standing and got with his bow. Nice living in a woods! Also made this, old lantern my Dad had since at least the 60’s. Had it over 40 years and it still had fuel in it! I had never used it.

Watch the video, on YouTube, from the guy on GrowingDeerTv. He simplifies breaking down a deer pretty well. If I can get one hung up at home within an hour or two of the kill, I don't even field-dress them.

TheBeardedButchers are also a good YouTube resource for all things butcher. They have videos on breaking down the individual sections as well as producing sausages. They also sell seasonings.
