I bought a H&R single shot Handi Rifle awhile back. I love the gun but it kicks like a mule what can I do or buy to soften the blow to my shoulder? At this point all I have come up with is taping a roll of charmine to the butt of the gun. :):

Add weight inside of the stock

You can add some weight inside of the stock. Use a few pieced of lead or if you reload, fill a couple of empty hulls with shot and crimp them closed. Wrap a little electrical tape around whatever you use to keep it from rattling. This is the same trick that H&R used to do with their 10 ga single shot (yes, that was a real shoulder buster) and we do this in 20 ga's for the kids.
