I agree with you that it does not feel/sound right.
However let me focus on McDonalds.

If you buy McDonald stock you are buying into the corporation that actually owns the McD brand name and just the LAND that each of those restaurants are on.

McD corporation DOES NOT own the buildings or those employees that work at the fast food joint.

    Those are franchise own.
If you have (making this number up since I really dont k ow the number anymore) 100k you can buy a mcd license and build a mcd building in order to sell their stuff. You will own the building but NOT the land it's own. You pay "rent" to the corporation for that land and you can only sell their stuff.

But you are a small biz.
You have maybe 25 to 30 employees working 2 shifts.

Not ALL McDonald's are franchisee owned. There are plenty of them that are corporate owned.

Seems to me the Catholic church is a huge, huge business. I'm not sure they should get money meant for small businesses.
    Is every McDonalds getting money?
You are not wrong. Is the Catholic Church a religion or a business? If the former then the state should not be giving it money. If the later it should not be receiving the protections of being a religion.

I have much bigger problems with how our tax dollars are dolled out then any being loaned (given) to Catholic churches. Each parish is like a separate little business unit. Most of them publish their books in their bulletins every week. I think the Church brings a lot of good to many, many communities, and they clearly have payrolls, each parish does. People who need to feed their families—no different than any other business.

They're tax exempt, are they not? They shouldn't benefit from a system they don't contribute to.

By that logic, the considerable portion of the population that pays no taxes at all shouldn’t benefit, either, right?

Edit: churches employ many people who pay taxes. These people are just as much a part of the economy is those who are employed by businesses that pay taxes.

It really was q whole bunch of churches, not only Roman Catholic parishes. A lot of churches run schools, food banks and other services for the poor. I would hate to hear that Joel Olsteen got some, but overall, I'd rather see large public companies scrutinized more.

But their employees are NOT tax exempt. Are there different federal loans being offered? I thought that one federal loan was to protect the employee; keep them employed? If that is correct, ANY organization that employs people should be eligible.

Children are too (mostly because they don’t earn an income :D ) but our state uses half or more of its budget to educate...umm...school them. We could save a lot of taxpayer money if we didn’t allow them to benefit from the system they pay nothing into.

    ;)

AT night when you turn off all the lights
There's no place that you can hide
No no, the Covid's gonna get'cha

In bed, throw the covers over your head
You pretend like you are dead
But I know it, the Covid is gonna get'cha

    Covid gonna get'cha
    Covid gonna get'cha
    Covid is gonna get you

The Covid is gonna get you tonight
No way, a mask can fight it every day
No matter what you do or say
You know it the Covid is gonna get'cha

No clue, of what's happening to you
And before this year is through
Ooh baby the Covid is gonna get'cha

    Covid gonna get'cha
    Covid gonna get'cha
    Covid is gonna get you
The Covid is gonna get you tonight

    Fauci wrong AGAIN!!!

Said Georgia was making a mistake opening up and they would be "leapfrogging into phases where you should not be"

The governor announced Saturday the lowest number of C-19 patients statewide and lowest vent use since they began reporting data...

Shut this thread down! Move it to the political threads...
