I bought a case of 6 bottles of Steramine from Webstaurant.com. It cost me $8 each to my house. That $10 deal at Amazon is a good deal if you have prime and you only want one bottle.

I don't need all 6 bottles so I'll give one to my son and neighbors that want one.

In the greater scheme of things, sure, but to individuals, not so much.

Knowing exactly how many this or that will not change my behavior at all and I imagine that is the same for most people.

I am in exactly the same place. My behavior is based on avoiding contamination with the wuhan virus. I guess of they start lifting restrictions it could affect me because I would probably tighten my personal restrictions a little.

So, looking at Allen Co's data...

They show 76 cases positive. (a bit delayed, yes) And all of those 76 had, at minimum, hospitalization.

Am I correct in understanding there's there's probably a large, indeterminate amount of people infected that have milder symptoms that don't require hospitalization, and therefore aren't tested?

Does anyone really know how many people are infected? And how much does that matter?

need to hit refresh? Shows 98. Yesterday it showed 93. They’ve been updating it around noon each day.

If I mixed up Steramine and put it in a spray bottle, how long would it stay effective?

    Looks like not long:

Steramine is good for use on the day you mix it with water. You must prepare a fresh sanitizing solution daily or more often if the solution becomes diluted or soiled. That's because the water activates the sanitizing power. Because Steramine is activated by water it also means it has a long shelf life. Just remember that it's most effective right when you mix it.

Per an answer from the supplier, indefinitely (on Amazon Question/Answer):

    Question:
Once mixed with water how long will it remain effective?

    Answer:
It will remain active indefinitely. It does not loose its effectiveness once diluted with water. This has been confirmed again this week with the manufacturer.

My boss at work uses everclear.. swears by it. I found out today that I was exposed to it. Our head nurse was the carrier. Been wearing a mask for a week and just got used to it.. assisted living community. I worry more for our residents right now

I make a gallon in a bucket, then fill a few spray bottles that I have around the house and in the garage. I use it in place of Lysol to sanitize just about everything that needs it. I haven't seen any Lysol around in the stores, either spray or wipes, since this started. Easy to make my own spray and wipes with this stuff. Can also dunk sanitize items in the bucket if needed.

I've got a resin folding table in the garage as a sanitizing station and just about everything that comes into the house gets hit with this stuff now. Paper items get quarantined for a few days or handled minimally then discarded, followed by a vigorous hand wash.

I've got 2 bottles, and am seriously hopeful that 300 gallons of sanitizer will be enough to get through this. :):

Yeah, I imagine that there will be some things that I will permanently do differently....at least until (hopefully) there's a reliable vaccine.

I have seen two incompatible answers to this. One says to remake daily, one says it lasts indefinitely. Both are from resellers that may or may not know squat.
I sent an email to Edwards-Councilor Company which says they make the stuff. Hoping they will answer.

However reliable information may or may not be from someone who does not know how to spell 'lose'.

I can send them an email and see if I can get someone who can spell. :):

Honestly, though...who cares? One bottle makes 150 gallons of the stuff. You can buy 3 bottles for less than $40 and have enough for a gallon of sanitizer a day well into next year. You can't even find Lysol now. And buying and storing the equivalent amount of bleach ain't happening.

Misspellings aside, I'm sure that confirmation of efficacy from the company in an official company email is good enough for me.

Chip is still mostly right - articulable suspicion of a crime, infraction, or ordinance violation.

Also not sure that an EO would be a crime/infraction/ordinance violation, unless bootstrapped to some sort of generic "order for public safety."

I read that as Route 45 agreeing with me... :dunno:

You do seem to be correct. It was my error. I was looking at available bookings and departure dates for those. I did not see anything on Carnival or Royal Caribbean sites that showed all had been canceled. In response to your post I tried to book a cruise on Carnival, and then RC. It was not until then that you could see most are canceled and future booking dates appear to be pushed out until June.

    Good catch.

I thought maybe you'd found a luxury/ultra-premium cruise line that was still sailing, or something.

Right now, Disney is the odd man, er, mouse, out, only having canceled through sailings departing 04/28. Everyone else has canceled at least until 05/11. We're caught in this discrepancy, as we are scheduled to sail 05/02. There's no way that that cruise happens, nor, at this point, do we still intend to be on it. (It looks like I'm leaving for a 10-week work trip, starting Sunday, to go get more Remdesivir manufactured; so we'd have to cancel, anyway.) We're just waiting for Disney to cancel, so we get full credit, etc. With Trump about to require a 14-day quarantine prior to commercial air travel for all cruise passengers, I don't see how any domestic cruise line sails anytime soon.

Darwin approves of taking cruises at this time.
