Just checked completed auctions on Gunbroker and prices are kind of all over the place, from $1K - as high as $4K. Most seem to be in the $1200 - $1400 range though.

Guys, I bought a COLT 6920 some years back. I have been out of the loop for sure. What are the values doing and what is it currently worth? Thanks
I've seen them lately for 1099-1199 at stores brand new. Used ones on GB have been all over the place from 900 to 1400 or more, check the classifieds here some were being sold but I think they just sat there, not sure if they ever sold.

Brand new they are currently 1400 which is about 500 more than actual value. In 2018 they could be had brand new for 899. Anyone paying 4k for one is goofball of the century. Used during this craziness a realistic expectation is 1k to 1200

Couple of friends own older models and they run reliably no mater what or so I have seen.
That said I still do not believe anything with the Prancing Pony is worth what they are bringing but brother if they are bringing it have at it.

Depends on the rollmark on the lower receiver. There are many different ones floating around. Certain ones are more desirable to Colt collectors. I was at the Dugger Gun/Knife show where an unscrupulous dealer was pawning off a 6920 SOCOM model for $1700. The serial numbers didn't even match nor was it a SOCOM model.

street price on new cr6920‘s is 1100-1400 . Older le versions are more desirable so I assume 1300-1600 value. Ymmv
^^^^^ I agree with this^^^^^^^^ I personally would love to have a older LE version 6920. Right now though the cost to feed one is much-o $$$$$. Just my opinion right or wrong.

To be honest, they're at kind of a low price currently.

Selling it right now would really be a waste.
They are overpriced by a lot at the moment. When colt stopped making civilian 6920s they couldn't give them away. There are much better options in the 1200 dollar range, and more on the way. Now is the time to get rid of them

I disagree, if it's a real colt. Just have to agree to disagree there.

The new junk colt is putting out isn't even made by colt, and you can tell it apart because the receiver isn't roll marked, it's cut. I have no idea who they're sourcing stuff from, but it is not even in the same universe as the stuff colt actually made. A real colt, an FN, or a knights are about the top of the heap for a factory built rifle. I don't really see many complete BCM guns around, but they'd also rank in there. If you want an "improved" rifle, then LMT is hands down the best.

Solgw puts together a better duty rifle than colt ever did. Maybe if you prefaced "in their time" the 6920 would have been up there, but now even the older ones are basically obsolete. Colt might be in better hands with cz. But other than nostalgia or some collector value there is nothing that makes a 6920 a 1200+ dollar rifle considering the other options in the market right now.

    To reiterate..

    Depends who you ask.

Price and value are not the same.

As a "younger" (32 y.o.) shooter. Colt has never made anything worthwhile in my lifetime. My dad has a different opinion. He was around when colt had a good name. To him, colt still represents quality. I don't speak ill of colts to him, as his are pre '81. I don't want to upset his world view on an American icon, in his eyes.

I get a big kick out of these "what's it worth" threads.
The CR 6920s or the Expanse are not in the same ballgame as the LE 6920s.
Having said that, anybody have a NIB LE 6920 they want to sell for less than 1K? Joe gave me some gun money.
A member on Arfcom sold 14 LE 6920s for 1350 (or 1450 can't be sure of the $) shipped.

What are we considering as "older" 6920s and "newer" ones. Was there a cut off date? I have one that I bought brand new in '12. Came with Magpul furniture in FDE. Just curious where it fits in.

Look at the mark on the lower, is it a perfectly crisp and flawlessly cut in logo, or is it kind of a sloppy roll marking?

If it's the latter, you're good. I got a 20" colt in 2019 and it's one of the fully colt manufactured guns.
