HEY EVERYONE! I KNOW WHAT TO DO! BAN GUNS FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO USE THEM IN CRIMES!!!!!

gotta be the best line i've heard to date!

government is going to ban firearms eventually, but guess what...criminals will still get them illegally, hence legally banning them for citizens will be absolutely worthless!

saw this on the news this morning
The Mayor of Miami and the Chief of Police need to get it together down there . yes blame the ak 47 not the gang member/ criminal responsible for the shootings
typical political response to the situation
I was in Miami in March of last Year and Ill tell You there are parts of that city that are down right scary and I mean in a BIG way
It makes Indys worst part of the City look tame in comparison
I have been to a lot of the larger cities in the U.S but Miami was the one that I felt was the most dangerous
I would not and will not ever visit that city again under any circumstances

Here is an email I sent to the Miami PD. While it likely won't get us anywhere, perhaps several of use should send them similar emails telling them to cut the crap because this is not the first time they have done this.

    Hi,
I would like to voice a complaint with regard to a recent report on CNN's national news. In the report, a claim was made by Mr. Timoney that assault weapons are involved in nearly 30% of homicides in Miami. Are you aware that according to the FBI's 2008 crime report assault weapons account for less than one percent of violent crimes nationally? In fact, blunt weapons and knives are more often used. Would you then support a ban on baseball bats and kitchen cutlery? If assault weapons make up 30% of crime in your city while accounting for less than 1% nationally, you have a problem that is not going to be solved with legislation.

As an Avtomat Kalashnikov (AK) enthusiast and owner, I am deeply offended by your department's call for another Assault Weapons Ban. It is disgusting to see your department try to push legislation on the new leadership that the rest of the nation does not need. Do you really think that criminals are going to follow the law? Are these not the same criminals that traffic drugs and steal from your city's law abiding citizens, all while these activities are very much illegal? Are you unaware that this past summer's Heller case in the Supreme Court garnered a ruling that is unfavorable towards bans on military-style weapons? Did you know that most hunting rifles are far more powerful than any assault weapon?

The change America needs is not more legislation backed by a loud, emotional few. You have sworn to protect and uphold the U.S. Constitution with an oath that cannot be broken. Your call for the infringement on the Second Amendment rights of all Americans directly violates the document you have sworn to protect.

You must quit treating American gun owners like crazed rednecks. I collect military rifles because I appreciate the history they possess, not because I plan to kill another human being. The weapons in my collection may have begun life as instruments of war, but they will never again be used to kill another human being. For every one idiot that uses one of these weapons to kill, there are many thousands of law abiding citizens who responsibly collect, shoot, and compete with firearms. As a citizen of Indiana, I am angered by your call to limit my rights in a fruitless and misguided effort to curb your local crime problem. As a citizen of the United States of America, I am alarmed by your blatant disregard for our nation's most sacred document, the Constitution. It would be wise to reconsider your call for limitation of law abiding citizen's rights.

    Thank you,
    Nathan T.

I wonder if some of these shooters are not paid by certain campaigns.
On another note, did this kid KNOW the victims?
If so, I think the public school systems have succeeded in forming the 'law of the jungle' social herd. Kids are made fun of, rejected, verbally abused by other kids and become violently angry with no vent and no adult with ANY understanding of the problems at the socialist brickyard. It is no wonder these kids just flip. Reference Virginia Tech: that boy was ostercized.

My children will never see the inside of the carny school yard where they will have to 'conform' to the idiocies of gangsta rap coolness and social disfunctions of teen immaturity. Our industrialized nation seems to be looking more and more like a African country where the largest predator wins.
