I shot it last Saturday and with the AWESOME Hornady 150 AMAX ammo that was issued, I was on my way to winning the whole thing, until I stood up to shoot the offhand stage.

I shot a 97-4X prone slow fire, a 100-4X prone rapid fire, and I dropped 13 points offhand!!! I still won a Gold Medal with a 284-8X and was 43 out of 1249 competitors, but I sure wish I could shoot better standing. If you look it up on the ODCMP website, you will see my real name and where I live, but I don't care.

    The winner shot a 291-11X

Also, two guys showed up for the match with no intention to shoot. They were there to get a rifle for each of themselves. They grabbed two rifles and walked away with them. Buddies of the gun owners, who had gone to the pits, saw that the rifles were gone and they called the MP's. The two guys were caught before they could leave the Post.

I will have my rifle close to me at all times from now on. The Marines are REQUIRED to carry their rifles to the pits. Good plan....

FWRR is hosting a Grand/Springfield/Military rifle match on August 28. I hope a bunch of you can show up for it. Paid target pullers, food, and awards. Let me know if you are coming, or just show up. We will fit you in....

Thanks ATM. I try to drink de-caff and lots of apple juice. I got two new knees last Thanksgiving time and although they are a miracle, I am stll building strength and re-learning a bunch of things.

    That will be my story..

    Great shooting!!!

I stayed in the barracks housing and they just left their pistol boxes out, unlocked. I locked mine up and they said "no ones going to steal anything around here". I just smiled.
