I only felt comfortable with 1 in the chamber when I owned and carried a 1911 #1 with the safety on. Now that I carry a CM9 I have no choice, the time it would take to be ready for action would most likely lead to my demise. Kahr recommends that the owner uses the slide stop to chamber the first round. I have become used to it now, I am just more cautious.

Not when I first started, but I do now, have for awhile now. I was finally comfortable enough to carry one in the chamber, once I realized, my pistol had never dry fired on it's own. I think mine might be defective, they will only shoot when their trigger is pressed.
