It's not even about stopping the sale or transfer. Its about the next step in a total ban and destruction of all firearms in Canada. He said it plainly

"With handgun violence increasing across Canada, it is our duty to take urgent action to remove these deadly weapons from our communities," Trudeau said in a statement."

I'm honestly surprised no one has taken a serious run at this guy yet. A few months ago they tried to do a vote of no confidence or whatever political mechanism parliament has to remove him. That didn't work.

Probably the same reason democrats still have the support they do—a lot of people agree with his work.

It is scary how the government can end  legal transfer of such a necessary item while the population cheers.
Fixed. Otherwise law abiding citizens may cross over into criminal territory voluntarily in order to procure protection for them and theirs. All part of the plan?

Sure it is. They just have to get rid of all of the guns first, then it'll be knife violence next and on down the line until no one has anything with which they could possibly defend themselves and no right to do so even if they did. See Great Britain.
They haven't taken the hammers away in GB and blunt instruments kill more people here every year than ARs.. They won't take the hammers or knives away because they want us to have tools to work with but anything we can defend ourselves with is on the "to be banned" list.

Who does he remind you of?

    Gavin Newsom?

Should we all be concerned that this sort of stuff can be pulled off?

    Yes we should!

Absolutely. And remember, Gavin Numbnuts fancies himself POTUS, and his aunt Nancy Peolosi will do everything she can to ensure it.

And if he does get elected to POTUS, well, let's pray he does not.

Hope they all stocked up while they could.
Canada is not the United States. So many here don't understand that. They have no right to possess a firearm, much less carry a handgun. They never had that right. They have no gun culture to speak of. Canadians will not be "stocking up" on handguns because the idea is foreign to them. No one carries a handgun in Canada, save for police, some security personnel and by special permit if doing so for wilderness protection. Carrying a handgun for self defense is an alien concept to them.

Even possessing a handgun requires a special license on top of a standard license for long guns. The only uses considered legitimate for handguns outside of occupational use in Canada are target shooting at an approved range, competition and collecting. And by collecting, it means legitimate collecting of firearms with historical signifiance, not "I collect Glocks." And the owner of the collection must consent to periodic inspection of the collection by thier regulatory agency.

There is not, inside of every Canadian, a Yankee yearning to be free. :):
