I knew a group of these guys back about 20 years ago. They're probably all retired now, but a finer group of professionals you'd be hard to find.

Good wishes to the officers and their families.

Read a report on it that said it started as a domestic dispute. The shooter is reported to be a mentally unstable individual who had got hold of a gun and told his father he wanted to kill some cops. The father went to a neighbour for help and that's when everything started, apparently.
Thoughts go out to the officers families.

This crap has to stop. Call it what it truly is, "TERRORISM". Doesn't matter, foreign or domestic, black or white. Those that break the law deserve what comes to them. My prayers go out to the officers' and families of the same.

Sounds like just another really bad day on the job to me. Mentally unstable. Not an isis fighter or sympathizer, not a BLM punk, not any kind of a real terrorist. Just a run of the mill nut job. Sucks for the officers. Sucks way worse for their family.

Police arrested known gang member John Felix after a 12 hour standoff.

Felix was previously sentenced to four years in prison for a 2009 attempted murder plot in which he confessed to assault with a firearm. He was also arrested in 2013 for fighting with police on the same doorstep where Saturday’s shooting occurred.

Good thing that California's A-rated gun control laws were in effect.

Terrible. Both 0fficers lives lost matter just as much as the other but damn she had a 4
month old baby. My heart aches for that child and for her murdered mother who had the joy of raising her child stolen from her by a coward. I stand behind the police. Beat the **** out of the protesters. Turn the hoses on. Let loose the dogs. Shoot more of them.
give them a real reason to fear the police and not just some made up one that politicians put in their heads. Squash their hopes and dreams until they submit to rule of law. The mindset of certain animals in this country that they don't have to obey laws and listen to police direction has to stop. Time to get the politics out of policeing just like they need to get the hell out of war fighting. Let's get nasty

A lot to take form this, first and foremost two LEOs didn't go home because of a career criminal.

Palm Springs: hadn't lost an officer since 1962. This isn't exactly Compton or anything.

Pleaded attempted murder down to assault/firearm (26 year old would've been 19 in 09) and got 2 extra years for being a gang member. 4 years for this??? WTF??!!

2013: resisted LE at that same house while on parole. Kicked down to an infraction/stays out of prison.

Disarm the law-abiding, empower the criminals. Good job California, you got what you paid for.
