You are pretty close to what they want to do. What the plan is having people in the bar areas go through security to get to the bars. And since the issue with the crime in Broad Ripple is coming from people loitering the police will chase away all the people hanging out on the main drag or the areas around the bars. The dipshits want to use the concert idea at Garfield Park in the Broad Ripple area bars.. This won't solve the over all issues of violence in the city. It will just chase it all to another area. Until they lock up all the violent crimes the problems won't go away..
I'd rather take my chances getting shot. What a great way to destroy those businesses.

If you go to the 1:02 minute mark of the news video you can see a small view of everyone running after the shots started to go off from some business security camera.

As a police officer, if this is enforced on public property by LE, then there is no difference between this:

    And this:

The Oath to the Constitution still means something. I’ll be the first down there on the sidewalk exercising my second amendment rights, most likely rifle in hand. I’ll be happy to be a litigant.

Sometimes a peaceful demonstration of walk softly and carry a big stick is all that is left. Just keep us informed, I don't want you standing out their alone.

Rifle in hand? You should probably sling it, but that's just me.

The latest news about the current "Shoot Out at the O.K. Corral" shows a big fight breakout before the shooting took place. Which this isn't the 1st time this has happened and not even 2nd time this year.. If this area has problems like this by large groups of people who aren't patronizing the establishments usually you just break up the crowds so the problems don't happen again. Basic common sense you would think you should do.. Well then again look at who the Mayor, DA, City Council are :poop:.. https://fox59.com/news/indycrime/mo...le-homicide-pleads-for-help-solving-the-case/

You said "rifle in hand." I understand you are upset by this whole thing, but you don't need to come at me when I don't want to see something happen to you.
Sorry, I guess that should have been in purple, you know I don’t riled up that easily. I’m not upset by it, just annoyed by the serious overstep. You know the frustrations and struggles I’ve had just to do good work and serve.

Why wait for BR? You can already find that in White River State Park or Garfield Park. Have at it.
The point is, that it’s wholly unconstitutional to restrict a person’s second amendment rights in a public place. Whether or not it’s been “accepted” to somehow magically turn public property into private property and then to violate constitutional rights is notwithstanding. I said what I said in somewhat jest in the fact that someone would have to push the issue and stand on a corner and be arrested for exercising their rights. I know that Hogsett is saying a lot words and talking points to keep his base rallied up for the upcoming election. But words turn into ideas, ideas turn into projects, and projects turn into action. And little by little, our rights are eroded because it becomes the norm. None of it is right, nor ethical or constitutionally legal, but we’ve allowed ourselves to become complacent drones, ruled over by people who only wish to maintain political power.

But I thought in one of the discussions earlier about stuff the CCC and stinky shoes make up that the ordinances could only be punishable by a fine? Arrests and jail time are not possible at that level.

But still, how many tickets could they possibly write if there was a mass protest?

I have an idea. Instead of making BR a GFZ on Friday and Saturday nights, blockade the streets leading into it and make it a $1000 "cover charge" to get past the checkpoints. Issue wrist bands once the cover has been paid. That should thin out the riffraff. Anyone found within the restricted zone without a wristband will be trespassed and escorted away. Use the funds collected to build more jails and prisons.
