Apparently the cars can drive "through" each other on pit road... like ghost cars. :n00b:
They can when they’re in the pit box area. You can hit them on pit road unless they’re driving to the left where the pit boxes are. Reason is the spotters are digital so aren’t as responsive and can’t tell you when people are leaving their boxes or pulling in, so it keeps the wrecks in the pits down.

The thing I enjoyed about it the most was the fact it came down to drivers and experience instead of equipment and money. Obviously in real racing the bigger teams with the deeper pockets are gonna have some advantage. On iracing everyone has the same equipment, so it’s up to experience and driver. I also like on iracing you have to use your real name, not a made up username, and they have a “protest” system. So if you intentionally wreck someone they’ll suspend you for a set amount of time, so it keeps people from racing like a jackass and they have to take it serious.

Here’s the highlights if anyone wants to watch it that missed it. End of the race was pretty close.

I've been enjoying the Dale Jr. podcasts. Lots of history and great stories. None as good as this though. Grab a tissue for the last few minutes.

Yes, Hamlin won with a $40,000 Simcraft rrig but Timmy Hill ran up front all day with a single monitor and old Logitech G27 wheel and pedals.

Once things return somewhat to normal anyone who wants to check out iRacing. on a really nice simulator should come by my place for a free demo:

Nice that NASCAR is going to be racing again, but it will have to be a strange experience to win a race and there are no fans cheering you.

I use a old g27 and a single 32” monitor. It’s fine on most asphalt oval racing, but dirt racing it’s a little harder. I’ve just recently started building setups for the dirt cars, hard to get it perfect because of how much the track changes and affects lap times. Lot of fun tho. Some of the guys here should go check out your rig when this virus clears up. I wouldn’t mind going and checking it out, beats the hell out of my single screen on a desk

I'm not sure they could relax "social distancing" enough to get me to check out cbhausen's "rig". :wrongdoor:
