Best place in the Michiana area for handgun courses for my wife?

My wife finally agreed to apply for a carry license and I feel it is best if I buy her a handgun course for Christmas before she gets the license. She has fired a few of my guns but has never felt comfortable with guns and I believe she would do better with a third party course. Keeping the peace in the family is worth the extra money. Seeing it is winter I would guess an inside range would be the way to go. I am in the Granger area and used to belong to the old Shooters in Elkhart, now MGE's range. Any others close by?  Thanks in advance for the help.

Go see Mike Titus @ Titus Tatical in Elkhart! Excellent trainer & has training simulator in his shop! We Had discussed training for my wife before we moved to Indy this summer! There is also Kodiak range in South Bend!

Also the in spring or summer SBPD puts on a course designed for women!

Simulators have their place but in this situation I want her to learn on a real handgun and have shooting practice with different caliber guns. She has only like shooting 22's in the past and needs to get used to the bigger calibers for PP. Any other ranges in this area that give lessons?

Whichever you choose check their safety record. A girl at my work went to a class local ( I will not say where as I'm not here to bash ) and ended up putting a round in her foot.

Yep! I have taken some training at Kodiak, and can say that they do an EXCELLENT job! I know Midwest has classes at their range in Elkhart, but I have never taken any of them and can't attest to the quality. If I were to personally look into further training, I would definitely go to Kodiak.

My experiences at Kodiak have been great so far. There is also a chapter of "well armed woman" that meets there monthly on Monday nights. My wife attends and says it's been a safe environment to ask even the most basic questions.
