Your disdain for the GOP is beyond obvious. It's okay. It's just funny that you get so damn defensive about it when it's pointed out.

Oh, I have nothing but disdain for the gop. But that's not what this thread is about and it's nowhere in the op, just in your imagination.

LOL, I didn't say that's what this thread was about. (But since we're on the topic, go ahead and admit that's exactly why you posted it. It's okay. We already know it.) Who's slipping now?

So do we have a list of where this will be airing? I have tried to find it but nothing. (Not that I am dying to see it, but I was wondering where it was airing).

That's not why I posted it. I posted it because someone has come forward and announced their candidacy for the nomination for the gop. I tell you what, why don't you actually get on topic, instead of just being your normal spiteful self? It would be refreshing to actually see you address a topic.

No clue, yet. My guess is it will not be on prime time TV, as it reads like it's an infomercial. I would guess small market stations, unless he has a boatload of money.
The documentary titled “A Breath of Fresh Air: A New Prescription for America” will air in 22 states and Washington, DC.

Carson talks a pretty good game, until the conversation turns to the 2nd Amendment. No way in hell I'll vote for him. He's been pretty consistent about his thoughts that not everyone should be able to own semi-autos, mostly based on location. it wasn't that long ago that he made the claim that people with AK-47s were shooting up detroit, therefor that justified his belief that law abiding citizens should be denied their rights based on where they live.

I've known about Ben Carson for a long time. I've read two of his books. I find it very interesting that he is running for President based on his religious back round. Which generally shy's clear of politics. I have watched a few of his debates and he has held up rather well in most of them. The people he debated turned into blathering idiots and fell back on standard lines of attack with no reason. His back round is rather inspiring. Coming out of the slums of Detroit where he had no father to speak of and his mother worked several jobs to get him and his brother educated. He became a brain surgeon and his brother a rocket scientist. The man blasted The President at his own prayer breakfast. Does he have all the chops he needs to be President? I'm not sure but I am willing to take a strong look at him. He is better than some and not as good as others. But of our best who of them actually run for President. I have already seen his bumper stickers on the back of cars for 2016. I believe we are coming up on one of the more important elections. Will the republicans take up the challenge they were blessed with this past Tuesday... I doubt it but I am willing to hope they can steer some sense back to America. But if not I am ready to dig trenches and hold out for as long as possible.

I'm willing to listen to what he has to say, but his credentials - as I understand them - don't necessarily equate to someone who has the skills and knowledge necessary to direct the Nation. As I assume is true for most of us, his race and upbringing will have little impact on my opinion of his fitness for office; my opinion will be formed based on how he presents his ideas for governing and the depth of his knowledge of current issues facing the nation.

Then just maybe repubs need to nominate somebody besides Romney's and McCain's

    Yeah, like JEB! Purple...purple...

carson spent his life fixing kids shot in the head and spine. I get his concerns. He also is new to politics and probably hasn't honestly thought about things Like gun control from a national concept. I know too little of him to support him, but I don't outright oppose him either.

His chances of being President are the same as any Republican's...slim to none, and slim just left town.

So based on that, I say, what the heck? Let him toss his hat and have his fun. He gets to be taken seriously for a while. If he can last long enough to where the Democrats actually start to get scared of him, his prize will be to get painted as a religious extremist.

Still can't imagine why someone of his talents would even want this job.

How about thinking about gun control as a right, like speech, religion, jury trial, etc... instead of as a national concept? That, to me, is everything I need to know about the guy right now.

How about it? Sure. And gumdrops and lollipops too. Reagan was pro abortion initially. People can learn. There is no perfect candidate. Having a personal opinion on something and trying to force that upon society through administrative efforts are different. He's not a politican and for that reason we should hear him out. We need non-politicians in the arena and debates.

And Reagan was anti-gun early in his life and stayed that way even after claiming he wasn't against the 2nd Amendment. FOPA should ring a bell. It's the reason people of modest means will never own a full auto weapon and he signed it into law.

You're right that there is no perfect candidate. But there are a few deal breakers for me. His anti 2A comments are one of them. I welcome him into the arena based on his ideas about self reliance. I wish his party would welcome more people into the arena.

BTW, this diatribe isn't directed at you. Sorry if it comes off that way.

I don't feel like you're aiming anything at me

that comment of his bothers(ed) me too when I heard it. It just sounded like an offhand comment more than a platform. At least that's what I'm hoping.

i would support a full-auto system as we have if they would ditch the tax code and do the "Fair Tax". Some inconvenience is worth their other positions, to a point.
