Saw this in the most recent issue of SWAT magazine.

Interesting concept, but still looks "gimicky" to me.

Swords are hard to use, even for people who are properly trained. It's not like in the movies. I'd say "gimmick", and a dangerous one at that. :noway:

    1. In today's time, a guy with a sword is going to (mostly) get two reactions - "Hey, Sweet, this SwordSwallower is about to do a show!" and "Watch out, Crazy Guy with a Sword, SWAT TEAM HELP ME!!".. these results will be dependent on how close you are to a county fair or circus tent, I'd bet..

    2. The "Young Lady" with the blue halter top demonstrating the belt - I'm not so sure that's a lady at all.. L-O-L-A LoLA!!

    +1

Training must be maintained, and I'm not too sure about a sword that is bent for most the time. From the videos, it looks like it has curved the blade when drawn, and you don't want to use a bent sword, the ballance would go to **** and the cut just wouldn't be "better than a samurai sword" as the website claims.
I don't know how a bent piece of flexysteel is going to outperform a wellmade katana.

and although they make the claim:
Swords of Quality: Quality battle ready swords are not made of stainless steel. Stainless steel swords will break in battle. The best are made of tempered & hardened high carbon spring steel. The BeltSword is a real weapon system not a toy.

They do not list their steel type.

There is a big difference between different types of high carbon steel.
