Some interesting changes to the 4473. Among them:

Question 11.e: Added a warning statement regarding marijuana that has been legalized or decriminalized for medicinal or recreational purposes in the state where the transferee/buyer resides.

It specifically asks if you are a maryjane user, and clarifies that even if it is legal in your state, it is still against Federal law.

And hundreds upon hundreds of people will lie in the 4473, still, and nothing at all will change. Think there will be any kind of cross check between the 4473, that question's answer, and a person's purchasing proclivities in states like Colorado? That's IF they somehow track purchases (like they do pseudoephedrine).

In all reality, much ado about nothing. Again.

Just clarifying before it becomes a court case. Clearing the confusion before it begins is a good move on the BATFE's part.

I'm not a marijuana fan, but it is a bit annoying that if a person smokes a joint, the second amendment is no longer a right for the , yet they can still get government aid/benefits (tax dollars) that are not a constitutional right.

please, people will lie like they have been since the 4473 has been filled out. People have been toking it up and buying guns for a long time and the only change now is there are state where you can get the smoke legally.

I am far more worried about the folks who should get counseling but don't because Obamacare will take away their rights before it can be seen if a person can be straightened out or not. That alone is probably causing people with minor issues, that can be helped with simple counseling or meds from even seeking the help. In some cases I am sure it gets worse for them until they finally decide to either end it all or go out for revenge... Between this and Reagan's closure of most of the Mental Health facilities putting more of these folks on the streets and homeless, I am sure this has had an impact on spree shootings far more than a buncha potheads.

2A still applies, this is simply a restriction on purchasing from a federally licensed dealer.

Buy your guns from another Indiana resident, it's nobody's business what you ingest.

They don't go after felons who try to purchase on a 4473, which is illegal. They just get denied. It's a crime federally to be under the influence and in possession of a firearm so legally they should be denied also. Doesn't make it right but thats the way federal laws work...
