I have been considering going to the NRA Annual meetings coming up in April. I have always been interested in the SHOT show but since I am not in the industry I can't attend. The exhibitors list at the Annual meetings looks pretty impressive, has anyone been to a previous show or plan on going to this one?

Yes, I have been to several including last year's meeting in Pittsburgh. Always try to make the East of Mississippi meetings.

I'll be in St. Louis. Going to the Firearms Law seminar on Friday and then walk the show on Saturday. We drive back on Sunday.

Maybe an INGO event? Wait . . . is rhino going?:n00b:

I was at the Nashville, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis shows, and will attend the St. Louis show again this year. I am staying in Collinsville and driving in, as I get a free room due to all the traveling I do. The St. Louis Marriot Properties and Holiday Inn were reserved for those making reservations through the NRA. I ordered my badge last week so I will to have to stand in line when I get there. I suggest that anyone going pre-order their name badge, as it will save you a huge hassle when you get there.

I thought I saw that someone (a private member or a gun shop?) was trying to put together a group trip of INGO members to the St. Louis show in April...does anyone know anything about that? I've been searching the site this afternoon with no luck.

My wife and I just got back from the NRA Convention in St. Louis. I have been to several this was the first one for my wife. We signed my wife up for a five year membership. Yes my wife. She has been to gun shows and you all probably know how that goes, But the NRA conventions are certainly not anything remotely close to a gun show.
She had a blast. We went Thursday to the store, visited with some folks and vendors, Friday and then Saturday to the convention. We both had a great time. Her highlight was Friday getting her picture taken with the guys from Swamp People. She loves the show and their cajun accent.
I will say this was one of the best. Each year the NRA really does a great job. Super vendors and great hospitality. We bought a ton of stuff. My wife kept saying , "you better get it" of Course after great hotel rooms and a dinner at Ruth Chris Steakhouse, she was in a great mood too.
I did my best to pamper her for all the days.
We are planning on going to Houston next year already.
Just remember we have to vote this year.

Bummer...I didn't see the swamp people. Would have loved to have met them. I did however get to meet Ted Nugent and shake his hand. Got his autograph. It was an awesome show. The speakers were all great. Chuck Grassley, while I agreed with everything he said, put me to sleep, and otherwise pretty much emptied out the remainder of the audience from the arena. Good thing they put him at the last.

Line was way too long for me to meet Ted, but I've seen him before. I did get some great pics of him, and I heard him tell someone something that just made me laugh.

I was standing outside of the meet line, with a bunch of others with cameras, and taking advantage of the opportunity. I heard Ted ask someone in front of him waiting for a signature,

Ted said, "Are you from Indiana too?"
Guy in line, "No, I'm from Illinois."
Ted, "Welcome to the United States of America."

    That's the Motor-City Mad-Man I grew up listening to. Crazy sum-bi..

Larry the Cable Guy stole the show Saturday evening.
