I live between Bloomington and Indinanpolis and am looking for someplace to get traing on my long range markmanship OTHER than in my neighbors corn and bean field. As the crops are being planted and growing my "homemade range" is disappearing. I have been working out to about 500 yards and would like to go out to 800. I'm using a 6.8 with 20" barrel for out to 500 yards but with a couple of special loads I can get pretty good accuracy at 700 yds. The longest official range in Indiana I can find is 300 yds. Most of the training academy sites on the web I have found require a 7.62 or better "which I personally don't like" or something MUCH more expensive to shoot like a .300 mag .338, .416 or a .50BMG. TOO much cost involved for those cartriges not to mention the weapon itself. Does something exist in this area.
    THANKS

There is a range in far northern Indiana that goes to 1000 yds. They also shoot 1000 yds at Atterbury during F-Class matches (I think). They at least do 600 yd matches.
