If you want to take your Volvo to the badlands, I'll go with you.
I know of a few 'easy' trails there. Some of them I'm sure you could handle.

Just let me know. We can have a lot of fun just driving around.

Where ever my GPS says I am
Mounting a flag isn't hard. I did jam mine down into some side moldings and then put a bunch of zip ties around my roof rack to keep it on. It works most of hte time. You can also just stick it out the rear window and roll up the window until it stays.

Thinking about it now, even the road going to the trails probably wouldn't work. It has many water filled holes that unless we get another extended dry spell, they will be filled with feet of water. Best bet would be to find a dirt road after a rain storm.

Getting stuck could be fun too.....

There are trails at the badlands where you could go thru, but considering the clearance a Volvo has, you would most likely get stuck on an easy trail. But that could still be fun for you.

For kicks and giggles, I searched "lift kits for Volvo xc70" and found out they DO have lift kits for my Volvo...hmm...

Meh I beat and banged my Toyota through tight jeep trails.

Then I got a little smarter and started wheeling this.

A buggy will be coming soon. I am not the type that can have sheet metal on a wheeling rig!

How much do you guy invest into your budget jeep? I always wanted to pick up an old cj

You can't say "budget" and Jeep" in the same sentence!

Old CJ's still demand decent money, and usually need a LOT of work to get on the road (trail), and then keep running. They are all at least 25 years old, now. To build mine as it sits today would take $10K-ish.

For "budget" fun, I'd snag a gently used TJ (1997 - 2006 Jeep Wrangler), throw on a budget lift (2-3") and mud tires, and go have a blast. They are quite capable, even without extreme lifts, huge tires, lockers, and what-not.

Actually, there is a really nice TJ for sale in the INGO classifieds for $5500, which is a STEAL.
