Just as the title says. I found a good bunch of .222 Rem Mag brass and loaded ammo in my grandfathers stuff he left my brother and I after he passed away and I was wondering how many here did anything with it and whether it was worth holding on to if I could manage to find a rifle chambered for it.
I have loaded for it and have dies, but only because someone gave them to me. It always suffered from a dearth of good brass. 223 Rem ran it into obsolescence by having nearly the same capacity in a shorter case and by being spec'd to a higher max pressure.
It and rifles chambered for it are best left as conversation pieces.
I still shoot it on occasion out of my grandfathers rifle and my father has a contender barrel chambered for it. Definitely not a round you hear about very much any more.
I neck up the 222Rem Mag to 6mm and run it through my 40X bench gun. If you have excess 222Rem Mag brass I'll gladly give it a good home and a thorough workout.
