8.6 Blackout

Has anyone had some time behind an 8.6 blackout? Curious thoughts as a hunting round.

A friend in Ohio had SSK make up one in a TC barrel. 338 Whisper I think. IIRC, he used a 300+ grain bullet, sub of course. He didn't hunt with it.

I would think trying to get reliable expansion with those bullets at such low velocity would be iffy.

With bullets up to 180 grain, you basically get a 357 magnum.

For hunting in a AR, I would go with 350 Legend.

For a hunting application, why not 338 federal? Hunting with subs seems like a bad idea. For a range toy, go for it!

Anything related to Q i take as 40% cool idea and 60% marketing hype. Cannot say the ballistics really impressed me , but when staying subsonic you are severely limiting yourself ballistically
